2011 Cape Cod Irish SummerFest
July 26, 2011 (3-10 pm)
Come celebrate Massachusett's strong Irish roots at the second annual Cape Cod Irish Summerfest! Spend a Family afternoon dancing to Irish music, checking out local arts and crafts vendors, watching some traditional dancers, and sampling fare from the Emerald Isle. Then stick around for a special Irish Music Night under the tent. The Irish Summerfest will benefit the Sons of Erin Cape Cod (www.sonsoferincc.com) and the Cape Cod St. Patricks Day Parade (www.capecodstpatsparade.com).
Children's entertainment includes Face Painting, Pitter Patter Puppets (3:00-3:45 and 4:15 to 5:00), a Balloon artist and a booth with small Irish trinkets for sale.
The Schedule of Events is as follows:
2 pm: Doors Open
3:00-3:30: Irish Step Dancers
3:40-4:00: Aoife Clancy
4:00-4:20: Brian Boru Pipe Band
4:30-5:00: Stanley and Grimm with Sonnay (http://stanleyandgrimm.com/)
5:00-6:45: Cape Cod's finest: Master of Ceremonies-Dave Hickey, Terry Brennan, Greg Buckley, Christy Henshaw, Joe MacDonald, Johnny O'Sullivan, Johnny Quilter and Patsy Whelan.
6:45-7:00: Brian Boru Pipe Band
7:00-8:00: The Glengarry Bhoys (www.glengarrybhoys.com)
8:00 to close: The Screaming Orphans (www.thescreamingorphans.com).
There will also be a raffle to win a Lobsterboat Cruise.
Food Vendors include: Chapin's, Captain Parkers, Tommy Doyle's and What's the Scoop. These vendors will be open from 4-8 pm.
Irish Novelty Vendors include: Cape Cod Celtic (Wild Daisies), Cape Cod St. Patricks Day Parade, Enchanted Irish, Irish Village, Keltic Kottage, Irish Author-Finbarr Corr, iShopIrish, Photographer-Maria McConnell-Dalton, Shamrock Nation, Sons of Erin Cape Cod and Wicked Irish.
Ticket Prices: Pre-Sale: $20 for adults over 17, $10 for children 6-16, Children under 5 are free. Adult tickets will be $25 on the day of the Event. Doors open at 2 pm.
